This Expo is the first exhibition after the completion of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin). At the opening ceremony, Li Hongzhong, Secretary of Tianjin municipal Party committee, Liao Guoxun, mayor, Ren Hongbin, member of the Party group and Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Li Rusheng, chief engineer of the Ministry of housing and urban rural development, Chu Shijia, Secretary of the Party committee and director of China foreign trade center, Qi Ji, President of China Construction Industry Association, Wu Huijuan, vice president and secretary general, Liu Jinzhang, vice president and secretary general, and Zhu zhengju, chief supervisor, Zheng xuexuan, general manager of CSCEC group, and others attended the opening ceremony. Zhang Xiangchen, deputy director general of the WTO, and some representatives of diplomatic envoys in China sent congratulatory videos.

President Qi Ji delivered a speech on behalf of the organizers of green smart building Expo. He pointed out that as the first exhibition of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin), the theme of green wisdom building is the important directive of general secretary Xi Jinping on the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. It is a major move to implement the concept of green development and promote the high quality development of the construction industry. Under the guidance of the new development concept, the construction industry is constantly exploring new development paths to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industry through the industrialization, intelligence and greening of new buildings. This Expo will show the innovative development of China Construction in the new era in an all-round and multi angle way.

After the opening ceremony, the participating leaders took the lead in coming to the "exhibition area of China Construction Industry Association" and listened to the development process and brilliant achievements of China's construction industry as a pillar industry of the national economy after the founding of new China under the leadership of the party. The exhibition area fully reflects China's construction level and the spirit of great country craftsmen. It is a gift from the construction industry to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party. The participating leaders also visited the exhibition areas such as CSCEC.

It is worth mentioning that the certification center of China Construction Association has an independent introduction booth in the exhibition area of China Construction Industry Association, and provides technical support for the exhibition in the fields of social responsibility and prefabricated architecture of the association.
